About Project
The Gijón Conecta Project, a model of citizen-centric governance, exhibits an inclusive approach by allowing residents to interact with public services using their mobile phones.This initiative addresses many civic concerns, from public lighting regulation and irrigation system management to improving road safety and optimizing parking facilities for those with limited mobility, promoting electric vehicle charging, and monitoring environmental noise levels. Sustainable Urban Vision
Gijón has taken several proactive steps and is pursuing multiple programs to establish itself as a sustainable city. One significant strategy is the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI), Gijón, Ciudad Atlántica, which aims to develop an environmentally and socially sustainable environment.
Furthermore, the city has established the Gijón Strategic Plan 2016-2026, aiming to evolve into an open, integrated, and sustainable metropolitan core. Furthermore, Gijón is taking steps to encourage corporate sustainability through its participation in the Impulsa Empresas EcoCircular project, which aims to develop awareness and integrate sustainable practices in enterprises.
